Description: The Diima Sports paddle features a black design, with black tape and an edge guard. The paddle face has a blue design, with the Diima Sports logo displayed. The design itself is not too busy, giving the paddle an overall nice look. This paddle comes in a set of 2, and it also includes, a carrying bag, 2 replacement grips, 2 sweat bands, 2 paddle covers, 2 ball retrievers, and 4 total balls. The 2 extra grip tapes are blue, which could change the look of the paddle if you chose to utilize! Right now, the only offering for the paddles is in the black and blue mentioned combination. The color scheme is definitely timeless and we think it is a standard, clean look.
Play feel: Overall and for the price, these paddles played pretty well. Definitely a step up from the basic wooden pickleball paddle. Due to the fact that these feature a fiberglass face, you do lose a little bit of control and touch vs. that of a carbon fiber face. However, these make up for the lack of touch with power and pop. These play strong and have a good feel when striking the ball in the sweet spot. The sweet spot was not as large as we would like, but this could easily be fixed with some lead tape. The grip itself is comfortable and is similar to a Joola grip, with that of the ridges. Again, this set comes with additional grip tape as well, so you can really customize the paddle to your liking. The paddle seems durable and so far we have not had any issues with it! The face itself is smooth without much texture, which is typical for a fiberglass face.
I would recommend upgrading the actual balls themselves vs. the stock ones that this came with. That said, the balls worked perfectly fine, and this is merely a preference to play with the historically lime green balls.
Price Point: As of the time of writing, this set of paddles is available for 44.99 (on sale from 59.99) on Amazon.
Recommendation: For the money, you get a lot of “bang for your buck” with this set. The amount of items included is definitely a step up from other Amazon paddles we have reviewed. We would recommend these especially if you have any issues bending or even just get tired of leaning over to pick up the balls, as the retriever cup features are great. Also, this definitely feels like a “complete” package, given it comes with the bag and even paddle covers. This set is advertised as “all inclusive” and that is something I would definitely agree with, given all the accessories mentioned. If you’re somebody who is transitioning from a beginner wooden paddle, these would make a good addition to your game to keep learning and developing!
